The 2014 “Study China Program” for British students has made a great successful close at Student Activity Center in the afternoon of Aug. 29, 2014. Vice President of ECNU, Professor Ren Youqun, Director of Global Education Center of ECNU, Ms. Huang Meixu, Deputy Director of Global Education Center, Mr. Wang Gang, Dean of International College of Chinese Studies, ECNU, Professor Wu Yongyi, Director of Department of Chinese Language and Culture, Ms Chen Liufang, Deputy Director of Department of Chinese Language and Culture, Mr. Shi Xudeng attended the ceremony.
Vice President, Professor Ren Gave a warm farewell speech, and congratulated the students for their graduations. He said, the world in future is becoming more and more globalized, and every culture needs be understood, recognized, and preserved, which emphasizes the need for effective communication and learning. He encouraged the Chinese and British students could continue their communication, and be the bridge of friendship between China and Britain. Prof. Ren Awarded the students graduation certificates one by one and took photos with students after the speech.
Student Advisor of British side, Professor Xing Minjie rewarded the speech on behalf of the Program. She congratulated the students again, and highly appreciated ECNU and the program staffs for their hard working to make the program a great success, as well as highly evaluated the fantastic courses and program organizing.
Representative of both Chinese and British students also gave their speech to express their emotional feelings to the program, and reluctant to leave.
Students performed their Chinese Language shows and talent shows at the ceremony, too. By shortly 3 weeks’ studying, they made a very amazing progress, which impressed the teachers on present really a lot. Such as Chinese songs: Tian Mimi and Sorry my Chinese is not good, Chinese Poem: Jing Ye Si, Deng Guanque Lou, and even Chinese opusculum: cosmetic surgery hospital, all performance are energetic and impressive.
“Study China Program” is very high level exchange program which is sponsored by British Government, and the participants are all selected from top universities all around Britain. It has been 7th time that ECNU successfully host the program since 2008, and already over than 1000 British students come to visit Shanghai and ECNU through the program, to learn Chinese and Chinese Culture. ECNU will continue focus on better service in showing students all over the world the fast development of Modern China as well as traditional Chinese Culture!
