What happened on the Welcome day?

    The opening ceremony of Intensive and Business Chinese programs was held in the activity hall of Physics Building on the first day of school, Feb 29th. Over 150 international students from more than 30 countries attended the ceremony and Ms. Huang Meixu, director of GEC, addressed at the ceremony.

    Student representatives shared their impressive stories and experiences in ECNU.
   
    The orientation this year is distinctive than ever. This Welcome Day provided four different lectures, giving new and diverse perspectives to the students before they start the school.
   
    Four lectures guided them to get a better understanding about their language study and to live a wonderful life in Shanghai. The topics are Shanghai101, introduction of ECNU & Language Programs, and Cross Cultural Communication Skills.
   
    Ice-Breaking activity is very popular among the students. Teams are required to complete different tasks and everybody enjoyed the process and yearned for success. Friendship comes before competition. We were seeking the goal and worked as a team. We overcame language and cultural barriers, forged deep friendship through communication and interaction.Everyone showed full enthusiasm and firm confidence on the Welcome Day. There is an old Chinese saying, 'Well begun is half done'. Let us all plunge into our study with immense zeal!
