Program Duration: 

September 9th, 2024 - January 10th, 2025 (the first week is orientation week and classes start from September 18th, 2024).

Applicants can apply for joining the program in the middle of the semester. Two weeks at least with 1000RMB per week. 

※ 17 weeks in total (the orientation week excluded). In case of Chinese public holidays and school activities, classes will be suspended. About four weeks before classes begin, students need to register online and take placement test.

Class Schedule: 

20 class hours per week (1 class hour = 45 minutes)

Monday to Friday 8:30am-11:45am

Fees: 

Application Fee 800 RMB; Tuition Fee 9800 RMB/semester

Textbooks: 

40 Lessons for Basic Chinese Course, Developing Chinese, Times Newspaper Reading Course of Advanced Chinese, etc. The cost of teaching materials is at your own expense according to the specific class.

Small Class: Less than 24 people per class.

Various Courses: ECNU outstanding Chinese teaching team, face to face to improve your Chinese with equal emphasis on listening, speaking, reading and writing.

Graded Course: 12 grades of course provided which exactly match students’ Chinese proficiency levels.

Enriched Program: HSK test tutoring, Chinese calligraphy, and other elective courses are offered (separate fee, voluntary enrollment).

Auxiliary Resources: Free VIP accounts for Chinese learning application.

Completion Certificate: Transcript and certificate of completion will be issued to students who successfully complete the course.

If you need to apply after July 31 due to specific reason, please contact program coordinator Ms. Cheng: zzcheng@ied.ecnu.edu.cn to confirm whether you're qualified for late application. If you apply in the system by yourself but it turns out that you're not qualified, the application fee of 800RMB is not refundable.

Refund Rules

If due to personal reasons, a full refund is available for those who give up enrollment and complete the withdrawal procedures and visa cancellation procedures before the semester start date (September 9, 2024 for Fall 2024 semester); 70% refund for those who complete the withdrawal procedures and visa cancellation procedures within the first two weeks after the semester start date; no refund after the first two weeks since the semester start date.

ECNU will provide visa application documents and on campus accommodation application for students of Chinese Language Programs (semester duration), please wait for further notice. For applicants who would join the program from the middle, please kindly note that L visa (tourist visa), M visa (trading visa), and other short-term visas are not acceptted as valid visa to be enrolled to ECNU.
