In the morning of June 30th, the closing ceremony of Intensive & Business Chinese Programs was held in the lecture hall on the second floor of Physics Building. David Turpin (President & Vice-Chancellor of University of Alberta), Michelle Hyde-Wright (Study Abroad Advisor of University of Oregon), Yang Wenwen (Chief Operating Officer of Hansheng Information Technology Company), Xing Hexiang (Director of Officer of Liaison, ECNU) and Huang Meixu (Director of Global Education Center, ECNU) attended the ceremony.

    The ceremony was started with a nice video, which showed us the study and daily life of our students in the programs and in ECNU. In an affectionate interaction with students in her speech, Huang Meixu, the director of GEC, congratulated students the successful completion and hope that they continue to maintain the learning enthusiasm to the Chinese language and culture.

    This semester, a total of 24 students received Hansheng scholarship in our program, it is undoubted an affirmation and return to the students in all aspects of learning, activities, and other excellent performance. In addition, Josh (from Canada), Park Byeongjoo (from South Korea) and Gesa (from Germany) become the first three non- degree students Alumni Ambassador of East China Normal University.  Finally, the three teachers, Zheng Xue, Yang Qing and Wang Ruoxi were awarded the honor of "Star of Teachers".

    This year's closing ceremony is also the final of the 2nd International Students' Chinese Drama Contest: “China Focus”. The competition received enthusiastic response of the students, from the theme selection to the script creation, from the roles assigned to a rehearsal of the program; all classes are involved, digging deep Chinese theme also social and cultural aspects. In the final, the students are even more whole-heartedly, with sophisticated lines, the image of the body as well as emotional, vivid interpretation of each story, won the audience's applause.

    After a fierce competition , reinforced by skillful performances full of tension lines , the drama of "Warm-hearted People" from 3-3 class & business class got the grand prize. "The Legend of White Snake", "Mulan ", "Let's Get Married" got the first, second and third prize respectively. "The War of My Family" and "Shopaholic Clinic Meeting" got the prize of excellent performance. Through this Chinese Drama Contest, students not only improved the Chinese language skills, deepened the understanding of Chinese society and culture, but also made beautiful memories for themselves in ECNU.

    The closing ceremony was successfully held as a good ending of the 2016 spring semester. Once again to congratulate all the students happy graduation! In the future, let us keep learning Chinese and keep learning in life.
