a) Scholarship for One-Academic-Year Study
The programme commences in September, and provides scholarship for a maximum of eleven months. International students who have benefited from similar scholarships are not eligible.
For the area of TCSOL, applicants shall have a minimum score of 180 on the HSK test (Level 4, and an HSKK test score is required.
For the area of Chinese Language and Literature, applicants shall have a minimum score of 180 on the HSK test (Level 4) and 60 on the HSKK test (Intermediate Level).
For the areas of Chinese History and Chinese Philosophy, applicants shall have a minimum score of 180 on the HSK test (Level 5) and 60 on the HSKK test (Intermediate Level).
b) Scholarship for One-Semester Study
The programme commences either in September or March, and provides scholarship of a maximum of five months. Applicants holding the X1 or X2 visa are not eligible.
For the areas of TCSOL, Chinese Language and Literature, applicants shall have a minimum score of 180 on the HSK test (Level 4), and an HSKK test score is required.
For the areas of Chinese History, and Chinese Philosophy, etc., applicants shall have a minimum score of 180 on the HSK test (Level 5), and an HSKK test score is required.
Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens and in good health. Well performed both academically and behaviorally.
Applicants should be friendly to China, have no criminal record, and abide by the laws and regulations of the Chinese government and the rules and regulations of the school.
Applicants should be students or scholars who are devoted to Chinese education and teaching or related.
Applicants who have got the similar scholarships will not be admitted.
Applicants shoule have the ages of 16-35 on September 1st, 2024. Applicants currently working as Chinese language teachers shall not be over 45.
Applicants should have a minimum score of 180 in HSK test (Level 4) and HSKK score.
Chinese Bridge’ winners who have been awarded International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship Certificate can apply for admission according to the scholarship specified in the certificate. Please consult chinesebridge@chinese.cn concerning scholarship awarding.
Exempt from tuition fee.
Provide accommodation on campus: economic double room (public restroom). If you choose to live off-campus and get approval from the university, off-campus living allowance is 700 RMB/month/person.
Living allowance: 2500 RMB/month.
Provide comprehensive medical care insurance for International Students: 800 RMB/person/year.

What are the recommending Institutions?
I. Confucius Institutes and Confucius classrooms which have been in operation for more than six months. For more information, please refer to www.hanban.org.
II. Testing centers for Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK) which have the right to recommend Confucius Institute Scholarship candidates. For information, please refer to www.chinesetest.cn.
III. Oversea organizers of Chinese Bridge Competition: education and cultural offices (groups) of China’s oversea embassies (consulates), Confucius Institute and relevant educational institutions. For further information, please consult

Step 4: Track Application Status Online
Check your email or login on your ECNU online application account to track your application status.
* Make sure your email address is correct and check your email occasionally, you will receive some IMPORTANT INFORMATION, eg. the arrangement of interview etc.
Step 5: Admission and University Enrollment
The final result of your application will be announced both in your application account and on the noticeboard of Global Education Center website (http://lxs.ecnu.edu.cn/). Admitted students must register on time with the original graduation certificate and degree certificate. Students would not register, if they could not provide the relevant graduation certificate and degree certificate.
1) Application form for International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship filled in Chinese or English and generated by online application.
2) Copy of passport
* Applicants under the age of 18 shall provide certified documents of designation signed by their entrusted legal guardians in China.
3) Highest diploma & Academic transcripts (original or notarized photocopy): Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized translations in Chinese or English.
4) A study or research plan. All applicants are required to submit a study or research plan. It must be in Chinese or in English and no less than 800 words.
5) Recommendation letters from recommending Institution.
6) Photocopy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form (The original copy should be kept by the applicant.) The medical examinations must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Please select the appropriate time to take medical examination as it is valid for only 6 months.
7) HSK & HSKK Certificate (the Chinese Proficiency Test, Valid for 2 years).
* Applicants who have won the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship Certificate in various Chinese Bridge competitions should submit the scholarship certificates.
* In-service Chinese teachers should provide incumbency certificate and recommendation letter by employeed institution.
8) Non-criminal Certificate (notarized photocopy in English or Chinese)
9) Application fee: 800 RMB (Please pay through the online registration at https://lxsapply.ecnu.edu.cn/)
1. Incomplete or unqualified applications will not be processed.
2. Applicants will be disqualified from application in case of fraudulent application materials or application materials are completed and submitted by someone else.
3. Scholarship winners who cannot register with the host institutions on time should inform the host institution about the reasons in written form within 15 days before the admission date. For those who do not register as requested without reason, the scholarship will be canceled.
4. Scholarship will be canceled for those who do not pass the admission physical examination, drop out, or take schooling suspension during the study.
