Full-time Ph.D Program
Program: Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (MTCSOL)
Period: 4 years
Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens and in good health. Well performed both academically and behaviorally.
Applicants should be friendly to China, have no criminal record, and abide by the laws and regulations of the Chinese government and the rules and regulations of the school.
Applicants ommitted to the Chinese language education and related work.
Applicants shall be Master degree holders with majors related with TCSOL, linguistics, International Chinese Education, Education and so on.
Applicants shoule have the ages of 16-35 on September 1st, 2024. Applicants currently working as Chinese language teachers shall not be over 45.
Applicants should have a minimum score of 200 in HSK Test (Level 6) as well as 60 in HSKK test (High Level). Applicants who are able to provide notarized document of the employment agreement or related proofs upon completing study in China are preferred.
Exempt from tuition fee.
Provide accommodation on campus: economic double room (public restroom). If you choose to live off-campus and get approval from the university, off-campus living allowance is 1000 RMB/month/person.
Living allowance: 3500 RMB/month.
Provide comprehensive medical care insurance for International Students: 800 RMB/person/year.

What are the recommending Institutions?
I. Confucius Institutes and Confucius classrooms which have been in operation for more than six months. For more information, please refer to www.hanban.org.
II. Testing centers for Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK) which have the right to recommend Confucius Institute Scholarship candidates. For information, please refer to www.chinesetest.cn.
III. Oversea organizers of Chinese Bridge Competition: education and cultural offices (groups) of China’s oversea embassies (consulates), Confucius Institute and relevant educational institutions. For further information, please consult

We will contact the applicants via emails or phone calls during the enrollment. Please be sure that you provided with valid contact information. If an applicant misses the interview without any reason, the application will be regarded as "given up".
Step 4: Track Application Status Online
Check your email or log in to your ECNU online application account to track your application status.
* Make sure your email address is correct and check your email regularly to avoid missing IMPORTANT INFORMATION such as interview arrangements.
Step 5: Admission and University Enrollment
Adminssion results will be announced through the ECNU application account. Admitted students must register on time with the original graduation certificate and degree certificate. Registration will be canceled if failure to provide the original certificate.
1. Application documents sent by email or fax are not accepted.
2. Incomplete or unqualified applications will not be processed.
3. Application documents and application fee will not be returned or refunded regardless of admission status.
4. Applicants will be disqualified from application in case of fraudulent application materials.
5. Scholarship winners who cannot register with the host institutions on time should inform the host institution about the reasons in written form within 15 days before the admission date. For those who do not register as requested without reason, the scholarship will be canceled.
6. Scholarship will be canceled for those who do not pass the admission physical examination, drop out, or take schooling suspension during the study.
