In October, the Chinese Intensive Program Class 2-1B successfully held a themed salon titled "I Am a 'China Hand'". 22 students gathered together to share delicious food and exchange insights. Amidst laughter and joy, they not only sparked intellectual sparks but also deepened their understanding of Chinese culture.

Food Tasting
Tomatoes on sticks stalls, purple sweet potato cake shops, osmanthus cake shops, steamed bun shops, lemonade shops, stone steamed bun shops... The scene suddenly transformed into a bustling cultural market. Volunteers took on the role of "shop owners", while students queued up to "place their orders", skillfully using their learned Chinese in a simulated real-life setting to describe their favorite delicacies.

The students shared their "favorite dish" and "most challenging food" in China, and their interesting introductions made everyone nod in agreement.

Chinese Cities
"Which is your favorite Chinese city?" The students chattered away, as if embarking on a virtual journey: Shanghai, where neon lights intertwine with alleyways; Shenzhen, where youth and dreams flourish; Xi'an, where the echoes of ancient bricks and tiles linger; Beijing, where smoke and steam rise under red walls and yellow tiles; Chengdu, immersed in the aroma of Gaiwan tea; Guangzhou, where the fragrance of morning tea lingers.
In the end, the story about Xi'an shared by Qingtai's team won a standing ovation with its unique perspective and sincere feelings.

Chinese Dialect Imitation Competition
Sichuan dialect, Hunan dialect, Cantonese, Beijing dialect... A series of charming dialect videos sparked the students' enthusiasm for imitation, with each one learning to mimic the accents vividly, making the scene lively and lively.

Common Sense about Chinese Culture
"What flavor of mooncakes are popular in Shanghai?" "How many zodiac signs are there in China?" "What do northerners eat during the Chinese New Year?" The students eagerly answered these seemingly simple yet culturally profound questions, not only testing their "knowledge reserves", but also sowing the seeds of Chinese culture amidst the intense pace and friendly competition.

After fierce competition and comprehensive evaluation in various aspects, the "Exploring Chinese Cities Award", "Dialect King Award", "Top Foodie Award", and the grand finale award - "I Am a China Expert Award" were announced one by one.

This Chinese Corner event was not only a practice of language, but also a deep cultural exploration. The students, with their enthusiasm and curiosity, jointly sketched out their own "impression of China". Each of them took a solid step towards becoming a true "China hand" through this diverse experience.

ECNU TALK Chinese Corner builds a bridge for students from different countries to have cultural exchanges and practice Chinese speaking. We look forward to meeting you here next time, and let's explore the charm of Chinese language and cultures of different countries together.
