ECNU Excellent International Student Scholarship aims to encourage and help excellent international students finish their study at ECNU, and make a good use of their talents to improve multi-cultural communication.

Scholarship Categories:

A. Scholarship of Excellent Degree Students

※ Eligibility:

  1. Registered self-financed degree students who have studied at ECNU for at least one year;

  2. Abiding by Chinese laws and regulations, and ECNU disciplines and regulations;

  3. No suspension, retaining or extension of your student’s status during the review timeframe;

  4. Having made excellent academic performance during the review timeframe

• Undergraduate Students: with a GPA above 3.5 (inclusive) for international students taught separately, or a GPA above 3.0 (inclusive) for those attending classes with Chinese students.

• Postgraduate students: Have published two or more papers in core Chinese or international journals, or three or more significant papers in non-core Chinese or international journals as the first or second author; or have presented papers or delivered keynote speeches three or more times at major academic conferences at home or abroad; (Relevant supporting materials are required.)

  5. Actively participate in various art, sports, public welfare, and innovative practice activities organized by the school and departments, and win awards in  major competitions at or above the school level. (Relevant supporting materials are required.)

B. Single-Item Scholarship of Excellent International Students

 ※ Eligibility

   1. Registered international students who have studied at ECNU for at least one year, including scholarship and self-financed students;

   2. Abiding by Chinese laws and regulations, and ECNU disciplines and regulations;

   3. Having passed all subjects of study, and no suspension, retaining or extension of your student’s status during the review timeframe;

 ● Academic Single Award

  4. Demonstrate exceptional academic achievement and actively engage in scholarly research endeavors.

• Undergraduate Students: with a GPA above 3.5 (inclusive) for international students taught separately, or a GPA above 3.0 (inclusive) for those attending classes with Chinese students.

• Postgraduate students: Have published two or more papers in core Chinese or international journals, or three or more significant papers in non-coreChinese or international journals as the first or second author; or have presented papers or delivered keynote speeches three or more times at major academic conferences at home or abroad; (Relevant supporting materials are required.)

● Activity Single Award

 5. Meet one of the following conditions during the review timeframe:

    A）Actively participate in public service activities both on and off campus with outstanding performance, with a total service duration of no less than 30 hours; (a certificate issued by the practice unit required)

    B）Core members of the Student Union, or heads of student recreational associations；

    C）Have won school-level or higher awards in professional competitions such as invention and innovation; or participate in various art, sports, and cultural exchange activities at the school level or above, achieving remarkable results. (a certificate issued by the practice unit required)

Rewarding Quota: 40 people

Scholarship Eligibility Supplementary Rules

1. Applicants upgrading from language/visiting student to degree programs, or from undergraduate to postgraduate studies during the review period, must submit prior academic transcripts. PhD applicants may include master's-stage publications (within the review period) in their application.

2. Applicants with more than 3 documented dormitory warnings during the review period are ineligible.

3. Paid campus roles (e.g., student assistant, dorm assistant) will not be prioritized in evaluations.

NOTE:

 1. The valid time range of evaluation materials is from September 1, 2024 to August 31, 2025.

 2. Eligible students may apply for both type A and type B scholarships, but can only receive one of them.

 3. Students applying for type B scholarship can only apply for one category of single-item scholarship.

 4. If the number of students meeting the requirements of the scholarship is insufficient, the place will be vacant.

 5. After the application deadline, incomplete application materials will be considered as automatic waiver of eligibility.

 6. If you receive three or more dormitory disciplinary warnings, you will be judged as a disciplinary violation.

 7. The above application materials must be true and valid. Once any falsity is found and verified, the scholarship qualification will be canceled.

Application and Evaluation Procedures:

 1. Please submit the hard copy of the application documents to the Global Education Center at Room 263, physics bldg. (Putuo campus), or Room 101, No. 12 dormitory for postgraduate students (Minhang campus, working hour: Tuesday and Thursday) before the application deadline.

 2. Application Deadline: 5 pm, Nov. 26th, 2025

 3. Official review meeting will be organized by the university to select out the most qualified students.

NOTE：The review will be conducted in the form of offline interview. Those who fail to attend the interview evaluation will automatically forfeit their eligibility for review.
