Sinoway International Education Group Limited (SIE) is the first and the largest entity in China devoted to providing US-standard college-level summer courses internationally. Job Title: Writing Center Instructor

Job Description: This year, SIE will initiate its own writing center program in all of its four campuses in Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing and Guangzhou. The SIEwriting center is dedicated to enhancing student’s writing skills. At SIE writing center,students can revise their papers and refine their writing skills under the guidance of experienced instructors. SIE is seeking experienced English writing instructors who can provide professional writing instruction to our students. Writing Instructors should be available for 1-on-1 appointments with students, hold office hours and host writing workshops and seminars for pre-college students.

Responsibilities:

- Assist students with their writing assignments during 1-on-1 appointments

- Provide walk-in writing consultation to students during office hours

- Organize writing workshops for students (one topic per week, multiple sessions for one topic)

- Organize writing seminars for pre-college students

- Assist student’s writing assignments/papers upon Professors’ requests

Qualifications:

- Current undergraduate or recent graduate from an American or Canadian university or college

- Previous work experience in a college writing center or equivalent institute preferred

- Demonstrated excellent English writing skills, major in English related discipline is a plus

- Excellent communication skills

- Demonstrated ability to multi-task

- Score more than 700 in both SAT verbal and writing sections a plus

- Experience in assisting ESL students is a plus

- Native English speaker is a plus

Job Duration:

- June 25, 2012-Aug 10, 2012

- Regular Hours: Monday to Friday, 8 hours/day.

Compensation: 200RMB/ Work Day, and Housing in student dormitory

Number of Openings: 4 (One in each city)
