The Closing Ceremony for the Featured Chinese Program of 2025 Fall Semester and the Chinese Poetry Interpretation Competition were successfully held

On the morning of January 4, 2026, the closing ceremony for the Chinese Language Specialty Program of the fall semester 2025 was successfully held. Over 400 international students from more than 50 countries participated in the ceremony. With certificates in hand and performances on stage, they brought a fulfilling Chinese language learning journey to a satisfying conclusion.



At the beginning of the ceremony, a video review of the project was played, showcasing various moments from classroom teaching, cultural exploration, and student activities this semester. Huang Meixu, Director of the International Education Center, said in her speech that Chinese is an important tool for understanding China and connecting with the world, and encouraged the students to use it as a bridge to continuously explore a broader future.



During the award ceremony, several students were honored with the titles of "Student Star" and "Full Attendance Award". These awards not only recognized their academic performance but also commended their perseverance and passion. Three student representatives, SHAKIBAEI HADI from Iran, NAUMOVA VIOLETTA from Russia, and MALLIAN FRANSISCA from Indonesia, delivered speeches in turn, sharing their growth journey from awkwardness to fluent expression, filled with gratitude and love for their teachers, classmates, and Chinese language. HADI, the student from Iran, mentioned in hisspeech that practical activities such as calligraphy and city exploration brought Chinese characters from textbooks to life, and immersive experiences significantly enhanced learning outcomes.VIOLETTA shared her experience in honing her Chinese communication skills through completing interview tasks. FRANSISCA stated that business practical activities such as corporate visits and exhibition exchanges effectively helped her combine language learning with an understanding of business culture.



Teaching assistant representative Teacher Zhang Qiqi reviewed the work of all teaching assistants this semester. In addition to assisting teachers in completing daily tasks of class management, they also provided support for many extracurricular activities. Teacher representative Yang Mingxiang affirmed the progress of students from beginners to confident expression in his speech, and pointed out that graduation marks a new starting point for deepening their connection with China and Chinese culture. He wished the students to continue to improve their Chinese learning in the future.



After the ceremony, the "Chinese Poetry Interpretation Competition" officially began. The Beginnerclass combined "Musing in a Quiet Night" with drum music and chanting; the beginner class integrated recitation and dance through works such as "May You Last Long"; the intermediate and advanced classes performed programs like "Poetic Heart Resonance" and "Dancing Between Poems, Rhythm in the Fan", deeply interpreting the poetic essence through recitation and fan dance; the business Chinese class presented performances like "Eliminating Sorrow" and "Grand Vision, Young Pioneers", incorporating business scenarios and creative expressions into the poetry interpretation. The performance "Eliminating Sorrow" by the Business Intermediate Class won the first prize and the Best Popularity Award in the competition. "Believe in the Future, Love Chinese" and "Farewell to This Morning, Singing and Traveling Far" won the second prize. "May You Be Long-lived", "Poetic Resonance", and "Dancing Between Poems, Rhythm in the Fan" won the third prize.



Thus, the series of activities for the FeaturedChinese Programin the fallsemester of 2025 came to a successful conclusion. The programaims to assist international students in comprehensively enhancing their Chinese language proficiency and cultural understanding through systematic language instruction and diversified cultural practices.
