ISU Review | A Real Interview Experience!

To better support international students in understanding recruitment processes and enhancing interview skills, the International Students Union(ISU) successfully organized a Mock Interview Session on December 12th, 2025. The event provided students with hands-on experience through realistic interview scenarios and direct interaction with corporate HR professionals.

The event specially invited senior HR professionals from Meituan, Yimi Dida, and Ruiya Education, who shared practical, first-hand recruitment insights with students.

To allow students to experience the real recruitment process from multiple perspectives, this mock interview event featured several interactive segments.

Right from the start, we kicked things off with the Quick Q&A on Interview Know-how! From What should I wear to an interview? to What should I include in my self-introduction?, these down-to-earth questions tested everyone’s basic interview knowledge. Students eagerly raised their hands to answer, and those who answered correctly received small gifts - instantly warming up the atmosphere!


Part 1 :Individual Interview

In the one-on-one mock interview segment, we invited international student representative Eri Takahashi to volunteer for a fully authentic mock interview with our guest HR professionals, demonstrating the complete flow of a typical individual interview to the audience. Without having to step on stage themselves, students could observe from a spectator’s perspective, gaining a clear understanding of common interview procedures, frequently asked questions, and the reasoning behind HR’s inquiries.

Part 2 : Leaderless group discussion

In the group discussion simulation session, five student volunteers engaged in a debate centered on the topic:"Will AI Empower Employees or Replace Them in the Future?" The volunteers presented diverse perspectives-some focusing on technological trends, others drawing from personal academic and internship experiences, while several analyzed AI's impact on employment structures and professional skills. Throughout the discussion, participants actively responded to each other’s viewpoints, demonstrating strong logical reasoning, adaptability, and teamwork.

HR professionals also shared their observations, offering expert guidance on the competencies assessed in group interviews, effective discussion strategies, and techniques for structuring and delivering contributions.

Through this session, students not only experienced the dynamics of a group interview but also gained clearer insights into the key qualities employers look for in collaborative settings.

Part 3 :Entreprise 1v1 mock interview

During the individual interview session, participants engaged in mock interviews with HR representatives from different companies, closely simulating real recruitment situations.

HR professionals provided immediate feedback and practical tips on how to perform effectively during interviews. Participants also asked questions about company profiles and job openings, gaining deeper insights into potential career opportunities.

Outstanding Resume Awards Ceremony

A brief awards ceremony was held during the event to recognize students who excelled in the previous "Resume Evaluation Activity".
