The International Students Football Invitational Tournament, an event of the 18th International Cultural Festival,  successfully took place at Putuo Campus' Gongqing Football Field from October 29th to 30th. The tournament attracted 7 football teams, namely those from NYU Shanghai, Donghua University, emlyon Business School, ECNU FC and other teams from ECNU, with a total of more than 80 participants from more than 10 countries.

At the opening ceremony, Wang Gang, Deputy Director of the Global Education Center, said, "It's fantastic to see so many passionate football enthusiasts gathered for this tournament. My hope is that it will strengthen bonds of friendship and understanding among students from around the globe, while also fostering cultural exchange. Good luck to every team!"

Highlights

The two-day tournament was incredibly intense, with every player showcasing extraordinary skills and unwavering determination. After multiple rounds of fierce competition, ECNU FC Team 1 emerged victorious as the champion, thanks to their seamless teamwork and unyielding spirit. ECNU FC Team 2 took home the silver, while the International Soccer Team secured the bronze. Goalkeeper UEHARA MASAHIRO, with his stellar performance, earned the honor of "Best Goalkeeper" of the tournament.

During the two-day matches, we witnessed thrilling moments and felt the joy of football. Let's look forward to the next gathering on the field!
