Since April 2023, the International Students Union (ISU) Employment and Entrepreneurship Department, under the guidance of the Global Education Center, has been working with the ECNU Career Guidance Center and more than 20 companies to organize the Career Series Events specifically for international students.

Employment Skills Workshop

On April 12 and 14, the International Students Union (ISU) Employment and Entrepreneurship Department hosted "Career Skills Workshop" with 4 different topics. Staff from the Career Guidance Center of East China Normal University and the guest speaker of employment policies shared with the international students a lot of information about policies of employment in China, resume writing and interview tips.

1. Career Path: Ms. Zhu from the Career Guidance center, introduced Hollander's career interest theory, to help the students understand the match between their personality and their job interests. She also provided a lot of helpful suggestions for the students how to make better career plan while they are still in school.

2. Employment Policy in China: Our guest speaker, Jessica, used different data to show the advantages and opportunities for the international students who are studying in China during the current moment when Chinese companies are expanding their business abroad. She also shared the requirements and materials needed to apply for work visa in China.

3. Resume Writing & Mock Interview: Ms. Li from the career guiance center introduced the resume templates and the writing tips. She provided good suggestions for the students' resumes and she also guided us to see the shining points from our past experience. Ms. Li also introduced the interview tips in Chinese companies and provided a mock interview opportunity for everyone to get a real sense of the interview in the companies.

Job Fair

On 5/19, International Students Union (ISU) invited more than 20 famous companies, and successfully held 2023 East China Normal University International Student Job Fair. A total of more than 350 international students from 50+ countries attended that day.

Career Talk

In addition to the job fair, we also held two special career talk sessions for international students. Leaders from BYD Group and CP Group, were present on site to meet and interact with the Thai students from East China Normal University.
