The 14th Shanghai Summer School Diplomats' Program is underway at East China Normal University. Nearly 60 diplomats from 28 countries have started their immersive journey in Chinese language and culture by the Liwa River.

The diplomats actively participated and interacted in the Chinese classes and theme lecture, showing great interest in learning.

At the opening ceremony, Ms. Huang Meixu, Director of Global Education Center at ECNU, extended a warm welcome to the diplomats from various countries. "You are about to embark on a journey of learning Chinese. In the future, if you can communicate in Chinese in daily life and work situations, you will truly experience the passion, humility, and wisdom behind the Chinese language. Only then can you gain a deep understanding of the way Chinese people think, which is a valuable experience that no AI tool can provide."

After that, the staff of Global Education Center provided a detailed introduction to the distinctive educational features, teaching resources of ECNU, as well as the arrangements for this year's program.

This program is sponsored by Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, Foreign Affairs Office of Shanghai Government and hosted by East China Normal University. It has been 13 years since launched and has attracted over 600 diplomats from more than 60 countries.

In 2025, we will continue to optimize the teaching content that is tailored to the diplomats' needs in daily communication and business interaction, and carry out more distinctive and diverse activities to help diplomats experience Chinese culture and the charm of Shanghai.

Over the years, the Diplomats' Program has always been committed to promoting exchanges between different countries and has been built as a bridge to foster friendship between different countries.
