Language learning is most effective when it is immersive, interactive, and engaging. With this in mind, the International Students Union of East China Normal University hosted the Chinese Monopoly event on March 12, 2025. The Chinese Monopoly event was designed to provide participants with an opportunity to enhance their Chinese language skills in a dynamic and collaborative environment. 32 participants came together to take on challenges, test their Chinese skills, and collaborate with teammates. The event was filled with energy, laughter, and enjoyment, creating a fun and interactive way to explore the Chinese language and culture. Let’s take a look back at some of the most memorable moments from the final round!
To ensure that all participants, regardless of their Chinese proficiency levels, could fully engage and enjoy the competition, we randomly divided everyone into eight teams in advance. This allowed each participant to contribute their skills and experience the game to the fullest. After warming up with the icebreaker game “Catch the Duck,” the teams officially entered the challenges.
Challenges
The content of the challenge was rich and interesting. For example, in the “Jeopardy” section, each team chose questions with different scores, and the higher the score, the harder the question. In the “Hidden Challenge” section, team members had to guess the corresponding Chinese idioms through four emoticons. Throughout the event, participants not only showcased their Chinese language skills but also developed strategic thinking, working together to earn the highest score for their teams!
Celebrating our top teams
After an intense and exciting competition, the three highest-scoring teams were recognized for their outstanding efforts. These top teams demonstrated excellent problem-solving skills, teamwork, and strategic thinking. To celebrate their achievement, prizes were awarded by teacher Sun from Global Education Center to commend their dedication and success.
We sincerely appreciate the participation and enthusiasm of everyone involved. We hope that this event has inspired a deeper interest in language learning and cultural exchange. Stay tuned for more enriching activities in the future!
