In the spring semester of 2025, the Business Chinese Program attracted nearly 40 international students from 14 countries, including Indonesia, Russia, France, Poland, Germany, Belarus, South Korea, and Japan. This semester, the students not only systematically studied Business Chinese in the classroom but also further enhanced their business literacy and cross - cultural communication skills through a series of diverse and colorful extracurricular practical activities. Let's take a look together!


In March, the students of the Business Chinese program visited the Huashan 263 Time-honored Brand Museum for a unique tour. They explored the rich exhibits on display and delved into the stories behind these brands, further deepening their understanding and appreciation of Chinese brand culture.


In early April, the students attended the 33rd Shanghai International Hotel and Catering Industry Expo at the National Exhibition and Convention Center. Acting as“investigators”, they visited various booths, interacted with industry insiders, and learned about the latest trends in the catering industry. This experience broadened their international perspectives and showed them the industry’s vitality and charm.


At the end of April, Professor Wu Yi from the Asia-Europe Business School of ECNU gave a lecture titled‘Discovering China’s Marketing Power” to the Business Chinese students. The lecture covered current market trends, advanced marketing theories, consumer behavior analysis, and a comparison of marketing strategies between Chinese and foreign companies. Students gained a deeper understanding of promotional strategies and future trends, and felt highly benefited.



In mid-May, students visited Ele.me’s Shanghai headquarters for a half-day investigation. They learned about Ele.me’s development journey and growth trajectory, and attended a symposium to discuss the company’s values and strategies with managers. Through this visit, they experienced the convenience of China’s takeaway culture and gained a deeper understanding of the rapid development of China’s Internet economy.


Through a series of well-organized practical activities, Business Chinese students gained solid knowledge in class, broadened their horizons, and improved cross-cultural business communication skills. They explored the integration of traditional Chinese culture and modern commerce, experiencing China’s global business vitality and innovation. These experiences will be valuable in their future careers, and it is hoped they will continue to explore international business and promote cultural and economic cooperation.
