On May 21st, 2025, organized by ISU, the International Students Chinese Dubbing Contest with the core concept of "Learning by Watching, Speaking and Listening" was successfully held. Contestants from various countries gathered on the stage to dub Chinese classic film and television clips in Chinese, presenting a cross-border cultural feast. Let's review the wonderful moments of the contest.
In the final of this competition, there were two sessions. In the first session, the contestants showcased self-prepared dubbing clips, they all displayed their unique talents. For example, some created interesting medley videos, others endowed animated characters with new emotional connotations. Everyone demonstrated their Chinese dubbing skills with meticulously prepared clips.
The second session was a live-draw dubbing demonstration. The uncertainty of the dubbing clips brought the tension to the competition. After drawing the clips in turn, the contestants had 30 minutes to familiarise themselves with the lines and figure out the characters. Even though the time was short, many contestants demonstrated amazing adaptability and solid Chinese language skills. They not only pronounced the words accurately, but also used their voices to bring out the character's personality, which won them unanimous praise from the judges and the audience.
The wonderful performance of the contestants on the stage fully proved their unremitting efforts on the road of Chinese learning.
The competition also invited three experienced judges from the Global Education Centre: Sun Qi (Ms.), Chen Hongyu (Ms.) and Tang Shutong (Ms.).
The judges comprehensively evaluated the contestants from multiple dimensions. During the commentary session, they provided professional and detailed feedback on the contestants' performances, from which every participant and audience member benefited greatly.
After a wonderful and intense competition, the winning list of this Chinese Dubbing Competition for International Students was officially announced based on the comprehensive evaluation of judges' scores (60%) and audience votes (40%). The judges awarded honorary certificates and souvenirs to the winning contestants, and congratulated them on their efforts and achievements.
