In the bustling Wujiaochang Block, there is a road full of a strong sense of modernization and rich cultural heritage, which is the University Road. On Nov. 3, students from Class 2-2B of Intensive Chinese Program held a lively and interesting social practice activity here.
A road sign with "University Road" printed on it, a mural of a girl playing an instrument, 3D dog's head protruding from the wall...What can students do on The Most Beautiful Road in Shanghai? The teacher divided students into groups of coffee and dessert, bookstores, grocery stores and assigned different tasks. Everyone quickly took action!
Try ordering a drink on your phone, take photos of your favorite advertising slogans, select books you like carefully, sit down to read attentively, buy a calligraphy book to have practice, chat with the store owner and customers…Each group tried their best to study and completed the tasks successfully.
On Nov. 6, students shared the gains of this activity in class: Each paragraph recorded everyone's profound feelings; each photo carried the beautiful memories!
Social practice activity is an extension of Chinese class, taking students into various aspects of life in Chinese society, applying Chinese in real-life context, and gaining language progress and cultural insights.
