The "International Student Chinese Debate Competition" series organized by the International Students Union (ISU) ended successfully! Thank you to all participants for their support and participation in this event! Let's review the exciting moments of the activity together!
11/29, In order to help participants better prep for the competition, ISU held a debate competition training event,and we invitied senior ECNU debate team member, Li Yinghao, as the keynote speaker. He explained the rule of the debate competition, the prep work, the charateristic of each position and the debate techniques. He also encouraged us to learn how to think deeply about a problem in a short period of time, how to express our views in persuasive language, and how to remain calm and rational in intense debates.
On 12/13, ISU held the preliminary round of the debate competition with 4 teams for medium level and advanced level respectively. At the preliminary stage, each team demonstrated excellent thinking and expression abilities. They not only accurately grasped the theme, but explain the topic from different perspectives, using rich evidence and logical reasoning in an attempt to persuade each other. The audience was attracted by their brilliant debate.
On 12/27, we held the final round of the debate competition. It was filled with a collision of passion and wisdom. On this stage, debaters showcase the charm of debate with their talents and wisdom. In this mental battle, everyone is striving to find answers, trying to prove their point of view.
The competition lasted for a month, from the preliminary stage to the final, each game was full of passion and challenges. The contestants demonstrated their debating skills and love for Chinese through rigorous logic, sharp rebuttals, and in-depth thinking. We hope this debate competition can become an opportunity to stimulate more international students' enthusiasm for Chinese debates, and improve their thinking and verbal expression abilities.
