The 6th International students Dragon Boat Competition this year was hosted by the East China University of Science and Technology.

    As every year we, the enthusiastic students of East China Normal University were looking forward to participate in this competition .Backing ourselves with practice sessions at the Changfeng Park and a will to stand out in the race, we set out with a very good rowing pace.A pleasant day, an early start and a zeal in every step as we moved towards the venue, we had promised ourselves to come out as winners.The campus at ECUS&T was lovely and well maintained on. Their arrangements from food to our safety was all taken care of. A warm welcome and colorful firework announced the competition open adding great spirit to the race.  As we wore our safety Jackets and wished team mates good luck, we held the paddle and got into our competition mood. We gave the qualifying round our best and were placed first with a great timing qualifying our team into the finals. Our rounds of congratulations went by and we started planning, discussing and chalked out a strategy to win the finals. We were all enveloped into the winning spirit. As we assembled at the starting point, prepared our paddles without a blink ,the whistle blew and we rowed are hearts out, building speed as we moved the boat ahead.

     Hurrah! We won the Fourth place and rejoiced over our win. As we held the beautiful Dragon Boat Trophy in our hand a great sense of achievement engulfed us. As we returned to the University the teachers treated us with a warm and nice dinner party to celebrate the ECNU team’s victory. It was a memorable competition. The colors, the competitive spirit, winning attitude, team effort and planning, motivation and encouragement all coupled made it one of the most awesome moments @ ECNU.  A big heartfelt thank you to teachers who were there with us all along and the arrangements they made for us.
