In the afternoon of Dec. 18th, the Chinese Character Contest, hosted by Global Education Center of ECNU and sponsored by Shanghai Hansheng Information Technology Company, was held in the activity hall on the first floor of physics building.

Before the contest, Jin Lijun, director assistant of Global Education Center of ECNU, and Yang Cui, executive director of Hansheng Information Technology Company awarded " ECNU-Hansheng International Students Scholarship" to 21 outstanding students in Intensive and Business Chinese programs.

Then the contest started. The contestants were divided into four groups of different levels and each level had different events. They all tried their best to win, which led to a fierce competition. The winners of each event was awarded the prize and finally, the four classes, which got the highest total score in each level won the group awards.

The Chinese Character Contest was held for the purpose of teaching through entertaining. The students all said that the contest had provided them a good chance to practice Chinese characters and they looked forward to taking part in more such kind of meaningful activities in the future.
