On the morning of July 17, the opening ceremony of 2023 Experience Diverse China Summer Program was held in Physics Building in Zhongbei Campus of East China Normal University (ECNU). 66 students from 12 countries including South Korea, Russia, Singapore, Germany, France, Switzerland, Slovakia, Belarus, etc. gathered together to embark on a 4-week study and life here.

Ms. Huang Meixu, Director of Global Education Center, expressed warm welcome to everyone. Three years later, the offline summer program finally comes again. The coming of the students makes the campus more internationalized. Ms. Huang introduced that nearly 6000 international students study and live at ECNU every year, and the university has been committed to providing various platforms for international students to bring them continuous improvement. She hopes that the students participating in this program will fully devote themselves to the courses and activities, learn Chinese well, experience Chinese culture well, explore Chinese society well, and enjoy the new life here. She looks forward to seeing everyone's progress and gains at the end of the program. Finally, Ms. Huang wishes everyone a safe, happy, fulfilling and interesting study and life here!

The opening ceremony also invited LIM BEE XIN and VLAHOS CONNOR JULIUS CLINTON from the Australian National University. They arrived in Shanghai at the end of June and participated in a 4-week summer program with 15 other classmates at ECNU. They recommended some commonly used Apps and shared some practical tips which they obtained through their own practice and exploration.

In addition, Global Education Center offered comprehensive and thoughtful program orientation for everyone, helping them adapt to their study and life here as soon as possible. Through the class meeting, everyone got to know the teacher and classmates, and understood the course arrangement and requirements. Then, under the leadership of Chinese student volunteers, they had a campus tour and took photos with "ECNU" on campus. Students said that they have been looking forward to the courses and activities in the coming four weeks and believed that they would definitely have a full harvest!

 

2023 Experience Diverse China Summer Program offers three teaching modules: Chinese study, city exploration and culture experience. It will take students to walk around in dynamic Shanghai, to experience the Chinese society and culture, and to explore business opportunities in China. It aims at developing students’ multiple perspectives and improving their comprehensive Chinese proficiency.
