On October 25, students from Class 3-1 of Intensive Chinese Program ventured into the historic cultural area of Hengshan Road and Fuxing Road, visiting the "Century Music Street" for an engaging social practice activity. They explored Shanghai's unique charm and experienced the endless allure of music.

The first stop was the Shanghai Symphony Museum. This is the first museum dedicated to symphonic music in China, where people can explore the development of Western symphonic music since the late 1870s. During the visit, students interacted with exhibits and listened to the sounds of various instruments in the orchestra, including strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion. They also experienced a holographic projection of a small symphonic performance, gaining insights into the collision and fusion of Eastern and Western cultures in music.

During the activity, students conducted research on topics such as the comparison of Chinese and foreign musical instruments, music and architecture, historical changes in music, and music and life, and presented the results of their practice in the form of compositions and videos.

Social practice activity is an extension of Chinese class, taking students into various aspects of life in Chinese society, applying Chinese in real-life context, and gaining language progress and cultural insights.
