The Shanghai Museum showcases precious cultural relics from all over the country, carrying the splendid Chinese civilization and inheriting thousands of years of historical and cultural heritage. On April 15th, the International Students Union (ISU) will take you into the newly opened Shanghai Museum East, where you can experience China's histroy and explore the mysterious ancient Shu civilization together!
Intro of Museum
The Shanghai Museum East is a branch of the Shanghai Museum, located in the Pudong Area of Shanghai. The total construction area is 113200 square meters, which has greatly expanded compared to the 39300 square meters of the Shanghai Museum People's Square branch. The Shanghai Museum East was put into trial operation on February 2, 2024. As one of the new cultural landmarks of this city, it also collects countless precious cultural relics, showcasing the 5000 year history of Chinese civilization. There are currently three exhibition areas open in the museum: Ancient Chinese Bronze Ware, Ancient Chinese Sculpture Museum, and the special exhibition "The Essence of China-Stars Over China-The Ancient SHU Civilization of SANXINGDUI and JINSHA".
Sanxingdui Exhibition
The highlight of this visit is undoubtedly the Sanxingdui Special Exhibition. The Sanxingdui, as one of the most representative ancient civilizations in southwestern China, has always attracted the attention of countless people with its mysterious ancient Shu civilization veil. This special exhibition will showcase 363 precious cultural relics unearthed from the Sanxingdui site, including bronze masks, bronze statues, bronze divine trees, and other bronze and jade artifacts. Each piece is full of mystery and legendary colors, with important artistic value and historical significance. Through these cultural relics, we can glimpse the glorious history of Ancient Shu civilization and feel the wisdom and creativity of the ancients.
