On March 27th, a cohort of shanghai diplomats from consulates of various countries gathered at East China Normal University to attend the opening ceremony of the 13th Shanghai Summer School Diplomats’ Program in 2024. It has been 12 years since the program was launched. The program is sponsored by Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, Foreign Affairs Office of Shanghai Government and hosted by East China Normal University.

Director of Global Education Center, Ms. Huang Meixu, expressed a sincere welcome to all diplomats and reviewed the development and achievements of this program in the past decade. The staff of Global Education Center also provided a detailed introduction of East China Normal University and the program arrangements for this year.

Diplomats’ Chinese Language Program has gained a very good reputation among consulates of various countries in Shanghai with its high-quality Chinese courses and professional management. This year, we will continue to optimize the teaching content that is more tailored to the diplomats, and carry out more activities of Shanghai regional cultural characteristics. The program has always been committed to promoting exchanges between different countries and has been built as a bridge to foster friendship between different cultures.
