On January 2, 2025, the closing ceremony of the Chinese Special Program at the International Education Center of East China Normal University was held amidst joyous laughter and celebration. Over 260 international students from more than 40 countries gathered to celebrate their learning achievements of the semester. Over the course of four months, the students navigated the vast ocean of the Chinese language, overcoming challenges and growing together, witnessing each other's progress.
At the beginning of the event, a warm video review allowed the students to relive the moments of laughter and hard work from the past four months. Ms. Zhang Lu, the Assistant Director of the Global Education Center, delivered an enthusiastic speech, praising the students for their spirit of overcoming cultural barriers and diligently learning Chinese. She hoped that this wonderful learning journey would become a shining milestone in their lives, inspiring them to keep moving forward in the future.
Next, the exciting award ceremony took place, where "Student Stars" and "Perfect Attendance Awards" were presented. The efforts and perseverance of the students were truly admirable. The presentation of the graduation certificates was an affirmation of the students' hard work throughout the semester, with each certificate symbolizing their progress and achievements.
Subsequently, GARCIA ESCALONA DANIEL ALEJANDRO from Class 2-1B and ZHANG LIU SONIA from the Advanced Business Class, as student representatives, reviewed their learning journey and expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Chinese program at the Global Education Center. Assistant teacher Fan Qingshu expressed her pride in the students' growth and her expectations for the future. Teacher Yu Yan, representing the faculty, encouraged the students to apply what they had learned to their future studies and lives, and to continue striving for excellence.
The atmosphere was then electrified by the Chinese Song Competition. Students from various classes performed Chinese songs with sincere voices, each note carrying their love for the Chinese language and their longing for Chinese culture. In the fierce competition, "APT Chinese Version,"Houlai" and "Sending You a Little Red Flower" won first, second, and third place, respectively. MUHAMMETGULYYEV YLHAM from Turkmenistan and MUROTA YUI from Japan were awarded the Best Male and Female Singer Awards, respectively.
We met under the warm sun of autumn and harvested in the cold wind of winter. Although the program of this semester has temporarily come to an end, the beautiful memories will forever remain in our hearts. Wishing everyone a joyful completion, and looking forward to meeting again in the future!
