ROUTE 2. Hangzhou
West Lake
West Lake in Hangzhou is a symbol of the famous historical and cultural city of Hangzhou, known as "Paradise on Earth".
Unlike the flat terrain of Shanghai, the Jiangnan landscapes around Hangzhou's West Lake have allowed many international students who have just arrived in China to experience the infinite charm of different topographical natural scenery for the first time during this field trip.
Tiger Run park
The most famous attraction in the Tiger Run park is the Tiger Run Spring, known for its clear and sweet water, and is honored as the "Third Best Spring in the World". It is said that during the Tang Dynasty, the eminent monk Xingkong once attracted a tiger to dig here and find the spring, hence the name "Tiger Run".
Meijiawu
Meijiawu is one of the primary producing areas for the high-quality Longjing tea.
While international students learn Chinese, they also gain some knowledge of tea culture. However, many students have expressed that this is their first time stepping beyond the confines of textbooks to experience the charm of tea culture firsthand.
On this field trip, students not only had a panoramic view of the beautiful scenery, but also experienced the culture of China from the beauty of nature. The Global Education Center of ECNU will continue to hold such activities to promote the international spread of Chinese culture.
