The 2nd Global Business Project (GBP) Opening Ceremony was hold at the Student Activity Center, Minhang Campus, ECNU on October 11. This project is sponsored by the Global Education Center and the Faculty of Economics & Management. Department of Training & Promoting and the Academic Guidance Center of College of Economics & Management organized GBP, which is supported by Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) Shanghai Municipal Branch. 25 international students from 7 countries and 25 Chinese students from the Faculty of Economic & Management take this program.

    Ms. JIN Lijun, Deputy Dean of College of Economics & Management delivered a welcome speech. During the seven weeks of GBP, the students who are from eight countries will improve the comprehensive skills, such as communication skills and teamwork while they discuss the heated economic issues, visit the financial infrastructures outside the campus and work out a financial products design together.

    Ms. WANG Qiuchi, Director of the Teaching Affairs Office, Global Education Center introduced the characteristics of GBP - Interaction, Profession, Globalization and Creation.

    Mr. WANG Lu, Supervisor of Product Development Division, Product Innovation Center of ICBC Shanghai Municipal Branch introduced the specialties of the ICBC mentors who will be paired with each group.

    After the opening ceremony, students had the ice-breaking activities, include “Carrot Squat” (self-introduction), Magical Writing Brush, Crossing the hola hoop, paper-cut and puzzles.

    The GBP students will meet 7 times for the opening & closing ceremony, two group discussions, two company visits and team building. Students will have a Creative Financial Products Competition with the guidance of ICBC mentors. This project provides an excellent platform for the international and Chinese students to communicate, study and work with each other and to build up for a Global campus together.
