A Visit to Fengjing Ancient Town

From November 14th to 17th, over 90 international students embarked on an extraordinary cultural journey, participating in the field trip organized by the Global Education Center. The students were divided into two groups, one delving into the historical river of Henan, and the other exploring the natural wonders of Mount Wuyi. This trip was not only an exploration of traditional Chinese culture but also a touch to the soul and an expansion of horizons.

The journey to Henan allowed students to travel between history and modernity. In the ancient city of Luoyang, they felt the prosperity of ancient merchants; the Buddha statues in Longmen Grottoes amazed them with the profoundness of Buddhist culture; the Kung Fu performances and experiences at Shaolin Temple allowed them to comprehend the spiritual practice of martial arts; the cultural relics in Kaifeng Museum enabled them to have a silent dialogue with history. Visiting the Iron Pagoda and the Forest of Steles sparked their keen interest in Chinese calligraphy and classical culture. Students traversed the long river of history during this trip, with every stone path, every Buddha statue, and every martial arts move making everyone feel the depth and charm of Chinese civilization.

In Wuyi Mountain, students experienced a purification of both body and mind. They climbed Tianyou Peak to witness the splendor above the sea of clouds; they rode bamboo rafts to fully appreciate the exquisite beauty of the "green water and red mountains"; they personally picked tea leaves in the Dahongpao tea garden, experiencing the entire process from tea picking to brewing. Strolling through the ancient residential area of Xiamei, they seemed to travel through time and space, feeling the gentle and elegant charm of the southern water towns. These activities allowed students to deeply appreciate the grandeur of China's natural landscapes and the profoundness of tea culture. Every step in Wuyi Mountain led students to deeply experience the harmonious coexistence of nature and culture, giving everyone a more profound understanding of the natural beauty and cultural depth of this land.

This field trip allowed international students to directly experience the vastness and cultural diversity of China. Through personal experience, they gained a deeper understanding of China's geography, Buddhist culture, and the origins of tea studies. Students unanimously expressed that, although the journey was tiring, it was rewarding. This cultural journey is an unforgettable memory and a bridge for students to communicate with the world. We look forward to the next cultural study tour, to continue exploring China and experiencing the diversity and infinite charm of this world.
