On September 12, the welcome ceremony for international students of 2025 fall semester was held in the Siqun Hall of Putuo Campus.
Lei Qili, the vice president of East China Normal University, attended the ceremony and delivered his warm welcome to the new students.
Luo Qi, a freshman from Madagascar, shared her journey in China and expressed her desire to explore Chinese language and literature in the future.
Mihai, a Russian master's student, also has a special identity – he is an alumnus of the 2019 undergraduate class. Now, with his love for ECNU, he has returned to campus to pursue a Master's degree in design.
Wu Li, a business Chinese undergraduate from Norway, as the student representative, told about his unique experience as the first overseas student to return to China from Norway after the epidemic, and shared his understanding of the spirit of "love in HSU". Recently, he also had the honor to participate in a meeting with the Prime Minister of Norway as a Norwegian student representative.
Ms. Huang Meixu, the director of Global Education Center hosted the ceremony and gave the "first lesson" of the new semester to the freshmen.
The staff from Global Education Center and members from International Students Union respectively provided guidance for the freshmen.
Police officers introduced Chinese laws and regulations, including safety precautions, foreign regulations and visa policies.
