At the peak of autumn, The 18th International Cultural Festival's series of events, including the Traditional Chinese Culture Carnival, was successfully held. This grand event brought together eight cultural activities, creating a one-stop, immersive cultural feast for the students, leaving behind countless unforgettable moments.
Eight cultural experience projects were designed, including Hanfu Experience & Chinese Riddle, Tea & Incense, Martial Art, Lacquer Fan & Calligraphy, Traditional Musical Instruments, Mahjong, Dough Figurine & Sugar Painting, as well as Paper Cutting.
The carnival provided participants with a comprehensive and immersive platform to feel the charm of traditional Chinese culture. In the Hanfu experience area, participants dressed in Hanfu costumes to feel the elegance of ancient people; in the riddles game, everyone challenged their intelligence and appreciated the mysteries of Chinese characters; in the Tea and incense area, the scent of tea and fragrance intertwined, conveying the beauty of tranquility and harmony. In the martial arts experience area, the movements that combined both strength and softness demonstrated the essence of Chinese martial arts; in the lacquer fan and calligraphy area, participants created unique works of art by wielding lacquer and calligraphy brushes; in the traditional musical instrument area, the melodious ancient music led people to travel through time and space. At the mahjong table, it offerred participants the joy of wisdom and strategy; in the dough figurine and sugar painting area, handicraft skills showcase a rich folk culture; and in the paper-cutting art area, exquisite patterns exhibit the traditional charm.
The traditional Chinese culture carnival not only provided international students with an opportunity to closely encounter and understand traditional Chinese culture, but also promoted cultural exchange and integration between China and foreign countries. In the future, the center will continue to launch more colorful cultural activities, building bridges for cultural exchange and jointly promoting the prosperity and development of global multiculturalism.
