The Chinese Language Program of East China Normal University has been started since the 1960s. For decades, with the high-quality teaching system and various cultural activities, it has provided a platform for many international students to enjoy the Chinese learning and get a better understanding of Chinese culture. Affected by the global epidemic of this year, and based on the different situations and needs of international students currently in China and abroad, ECNU launched Chinese Language Program, Chinese Language Online Program and Chinese Language Online Program for Beginners(April) in Spring Semester 2021.

1. Program Introduction

1）Chinese Language Program

For students currently in China’s mainland or students from countries that opened study visa application. Classes will be held on site.

Program Duration: March 1-July 1, 2021(classes will start from March 8)

Registration Day: March 1-2, 2021

Fees：Application fee 400 RMB; tuition fee 9800 RMB/semester; textbooks 200 RMB/semester

Textbooks:

40 Lessons for Basic Chinese(I,II) , Development Chinese (elementary, intermediate, advanced), Times Chinese Newspaper Reading Course etc

Program Features:

●  Small Class : Less than 20 people per class;

●  Various Courses: ECNU outstanding Chinese teaching team, face to face to improve your Chinese with equal emphasis on listening, speaking, reading and writing;

●  Completion Certificate: Formal transcripts and certificate of completion will be issued to students who successfully complete the course.

2) Chinese Language Online Program

For students who are overseas currently only. Students can take live stream courses on ZHUMU Software.

Program Duration: March 1-July 1, 2021(classes will start from March 8)

Online Registration: March 1-2, 2021

Fees：Application fee 400 RMB; tuition fee 9800 RMB/semester

Teaching materials : Teachers will instruct students to prepare.

40 Lessons for Basic Chinese, Development Chinese, Times Chinese Newspaper Reading Course etc

Program Features:

● Distance Teaching: Interaction with the teacher in live stream class, in a dynamic class atmosphere; Teachers track each students' progress and provide timely feedback and guidance;

● Various Teaching Mode: A combination of comprehensive, listening and speaking courses to develop student’s multiple skills. Special newspaper reading and Chinese culture classes for students of higher levels to improve the effectiveness of Chinese learning;

● Flexible Learning: The recorded video can be viewed repeatedly anytime and anywhere;

● Proof of Completion: An electronic transcript will be issued at the end of the program and an electronic completion certificate will be issued for students who successfully complete the program.

3) Chinese Language Online Program for Beginners(April)

For beginners of Chinese learning. Students can take live stream courses on ZHUMU Software.

Course Duration: April 1-July 1, 2021

Online Registration: March 30-31, 2021

Fees：Application fee 400 RMB; tuition fee 7000 RMB

Teaching materials : Teachers will instruct students to prepare.

Program Features:

● Easy Start: Zero basis, face to face, let’s explore the world of Chinese learning;

● Distance Teaching: Interaction with the teacher in live stream class, in a dynamic class atmosphere; Teachers track each students' progress and provide timely feedback and guidance;

● Various Teaching Mode: A combination of comprehensive, listening and speaking courses to develop student’s multiple skills;

● Proof of Completion: An electronic transcript will be issued at the end of the program and an electronic completion certificate will be issued for students who successfully complete the program.

Chinese Language Program: January 10, 2021

Chinese Language Online Program: January 31, 2021

Chinese Language Program Online for Beginners(April): February 28, 2021

4) Application materials and application fees are not refundable once submitted

Note: Applicants of Chinese Language Program and Chinese Language Online Program should finish the payment before February 10, 2021; applicants of Chinese Language Online Program for Beginners(April) should finish the payment before March 10, 2021.

5. Refund Rules

1) Chinese Language Program: If you decide to withdraw the admission before the registration day, you will get full refund; withdraw from school within the first two weeks after registration day, receive 70% refund; you will no longer get the refund after the first two weeks since the registration day;

2) Chinese Language Online Program&Chinese Language Online Program for Beginners(April): The first week of class is a free trial week and you can get a full refund within the first week. You will no longer get the refund after the first week.

6. Visa & Accommodation

ECNU can provide with visa document and accommodation on campus for students of Chinese Language Program. ECNU does not provide with visa document and accommodation on campus for students of Chinese Language Online Program and Chinese Language Online Program for Beginners(April).
