On May 17th, it was the turn of spring and summer, the sun was shining brightly, and everything was in full bloom. The students of Class 1-2 of Intensive Chinese Program took this opportunity to go to Zhujiajiao Ancient Town to carry out a rich and colorful social practice activity, which not only experienced the scenery of the Jiangnan water town, but also practiced their oral communication skills in Chinese.
Zhujiajiao Ancient Town has a long history and is one of the top ten ancient towns in the Yangtze River Delta. The ancient streets and alleys by the river, the Ming and Qing architecture with blue bricks and black tiles, and the ancient cultural relics together create a beautiful and elegant ink painting. Every scene exudes a strong historical flavor and carries a deep cultural heritage - the classical and elegant Yuanjin Zen Temple, the magnificent Fangsheng Bridge, and the unique scenery of the Kezhi Garden ...
The Chinese teacher assigned language practice tasks to the students. In the streets and alleys, students should sample their favorite dishes and document the distinct flavors they encountered. They also observed the range of products and their prices sold in various shops. Through photo taking and check-in, they found designated attractions. Additionally, they interviewed tourists from the Kezhi Garden, sharing their favorite buildings in the garden. They successfully completed the tasks in groups .After the practice activity, each group shared their gains and reflections in class.
Social practice activity is an extension of Chinese class, taking students into various aspects of life in Chinese society, applying Chinese in real-life context, and gaining language progress and cultural insights.
