On June 21, 2024, the closing ceremony of the Featured Chinese Language Program of East China Normal University held as scheduled. More than 130 international students from over 20 countries gathered here. Like the spring bamboo shoots after the rain, the international students have grown vigorously under the nourishment of the Chinese language. They come from all over the world, with a desire for knowledge of Chinese and curiosity about Chinese culture, converging in this hall full of wisdom. Here, they not only learn the words and sentences of Chinese, but also feel the charm of Chinese culture in every cultural exchange.
At the beginning of the ceremony, Assistant Director of the International Education Center, Ms. Zhang Lu, delivered an enthusiastic speech, highly praising the efforts and achievements of all teachers and students, and expressed good wishes for the students' future learning and life. LIENADI MAREEKA YINAWATI, a student from Indonesia, expressed her gratitude for the careful teaching of the teachers and the friendly companionship of friends. The growth and gains in East China Normal University will become a precious treasure on the road of life. PHAN THI MINH CHAU, a student from Vietnam, shared with us what she learned and gained in Shanghai and East China Normal University in a year, and she will also remember this beautiful memory in her heart. Teaching assistant representative Pan Jingying shared her deep experience as a teaching assistant and expressed her feelings of regret and reluctance. Teacher representative Li Haoxuan looked back on the past semester and was very pleased with the students' progress, and wished that the students' future would be more wonderful because of Chinese.
Next, the exciting award ceremony was held. Looking back on the bits and pieces of a semester, the voices of teachers and students are intertwined. Harvest and growth are condensed into precious honors that are passed to the students' hands. The winners of the Student Star and Full Attendance Award, with their excellent performance and unremitting efforts, have won this honor. We are proud of their achievements and encourage all students to take them as a role model and continue to pursue excellence. The issuance of graduation certificates is an affirmation of the students' hard work in a semester. Each certificate is the crystallization of their wisdom and sweat, and is a solid footprint on their growth path. The award of the image sharing activity is a praise for the students' creativity and talent. Each work is a miniature of our common memory, recording the good times we spent together in East China Normal University and the full love for East China Normal University.
Subsequently, in the wonderful short play section, each class of students wrote their own scripts, sang by themselves, and made props, presenting the best performance. The students' energetic and creative performances rounded off the semester, and the graduation ceremony also came to a successful conclusion.
Finally, after careful review by the teachers, "Where Has the Time Gone" won the first prize in the short play competition, "The Disappearing She" and "Shy Iron Fist" won the second prize, "The Twelve Zodiac Competition", "The Story of the Credit Card" and "Do You Know I'm Waiting for You" won the third prize. KWAN VINCENT from Class 2-1A and BARDOS JANE ALEXIS DY from Class 2-3 were awarded the Best Actor and Actress respectively.
Graduation is not the end, but a new starting point. We not only savor the sweetness and bitterness of this spring program, but also look forward to the infinite possibilities of the future. Let us bravely take every step and welcome every dawn and dusk. May our future be as brilliant and dazzling as the stars, as vibrant and vivid as the summer flowers. May we always meet in the mountains and rivers, and our friendship last forever. When we meet again, we will bring more stories, more growth, more touching, and jointly write a new chapter of East China Normal University.
