2025 ECNU Chinese Intensive Training Winter Program has successfully concluded. More than 50 students from over 20 countries completed a three-week immersive Chinese language learning and cultural exploration program in China. The curriculum included comprehensive Chinese language courses, oral practice, and cultural experiences. Students engaged with the charm of the language through activities such as video lessons, Chinese songs, and paper cutting.
During the program, students explored Shanghai’s Yuyuan Garden, experiencing traditional landscaping art including rockeries and ponds, and enjoyed the "Classic of Mountains and Seas" themed New Year lantern display. They also visited Hangzhou for a cultural tour, where they explored the karst caves of the Yao Lin Fairyland, visited the Buddhist landmark Lingyin Temple, admired the winter beauty of West Lake, and experienced the charm of the water towns of southern China.
The training camp also included a visit to the Alibaba Shanghai, where students learned about smart office systems and green low-carbon building concepts. Coinciding with the Chinese New Year, students experienced traditional festival customs, such as making dumplings, writing Spring Festival couplets, crafting dough figurines, and creating incense tags, all of which provided insight into China’s intangible cultural heritage.
At the closing ceremony, students presented their learning achievements through Vlogs and PPTs, showcasing their language progress and cultural understanding. This program, through diverse language practices and deep cultural immersion, not only enhanced the students’ Chinese language skills but also deepened their appreciation and understanding of traditional Chinese culture.
