Study Duration

July 8 - August 16, 2024 (6 weeks)

Class time: Monday to Friday 8:30-11:45, 20 class hours per week (1 class hour = 45 minutes)

Sample Weekly Schedule

1. Comprehensive Chinese: 

Through listening, speaking, reading and writing language skills training, to improve the ability to use vocabulary, grammar structures and the corresponding Chinese characters

2. Chinese speaking: 

Through spoken language training, to improve the ability of oral communication in Chinese

3. Cultural experience: 

Deepen the understanding of Chinese society and culture through cultural learning, city visits and other practical activities

4. One-on-one speaking tutoring (elective): 

A reservation system is adopted, with 6 reservation places per class per week. Students sign up voluntarily and have a one-on-one conversation with the teacher for about 15 minutes after a successful appointment. The conversation will focus on the topic of the previous week's class or cultural experience and students will receive targeted guidance.

5. Fundamentals of Chinese characters (elective): 

The teacher will explain the strokes, stroke order, radicals, and meaning of Chinese characters, and students will improve their ability to recognize and write Chinese characters through writing drills, dictation, and games based on their understanding.

Refund Rules

If due to personal reasons, a full refund is available for those who give up enrollment and complete the withdrawal procedures and visa cancellation procedures before July 8, 2024; 70% refund for those who complete the withdrawal procedures and visa cancellation procedures within the first week after July 8, 2024; no refund after the first week since July 15, 2024.

Visa and Accmmodation 

ECNU will provide summer program students with the documents for applying for study visas, and students can apply for on-campus accommodation, which is available at the following rates:
