1. Standard Chinese Language Program
Program Duration:
One semester or one academic year.
The classes begin in late February or early March for Spring semester and early September for Fall semester.
Class Schedule:
Beginner I (absolute beginners): Monday to Friday 13:30 pm-15:00 pm, 15:15 pm-16:45 pm, 4 class hours each session (45min=1 class hour), 20 class hours per week.
Beginner II & Non-beginner levels:Monday to Friday 8:30 am-10:00 am, 10:15 am-11:45 am, 4 class hours each session (45min=1 class hour), 20 class hours per week.

Textbooks:
40 Lessons for Basic Chinese, Developing Chinese, Advanced Chinese News Reading Course, China Focus, etc. Teachers will provide a list of textbooks at the beginning of the semester, and students may purchase textbooks based on the list for their classes.

2. Global China Program
Program Introduction:
The Global China Program provides an excellent opportunity for students to learn about China through academic and cultural immersion during one semester. This program is open to current college students who wish to study in China for one semester (15 weeks). The program consists of two parts: A. Chinese Language Course (6 credits) from beginning to advanced levels B. English-taught Content Courses (3 credits each) on China Studies and other fields. The Global China Program offers a credit structure which is identical to the majority of North American universities and colleges. Course contents are carefully designed to meet the requirements of North American universities and colleges.
Program Duration:
One semester
The classes begin in late February or early March for Spring semester and early September for Fall semester.
Course Registration:
Students can access to the on-line application system to apply and register for courses. In each semester, we offer English taught content courses on China Studies and several levels of Chinese language course. Students may take up to four courses. Please note that a course might be canceled if the minimum enrollment is not reached. Classes are held from Monday to Friday and all content courses are taught in English.

Credit Transfer:
Students who wish to have the ECNU credits transferred to other colleges and universities are advised to consult with the appropriate academic authorities at their home institution in advance. Home institutions’ academic advisers make the final decision whether a particular course may be applied towards the major or elective requirement at the home institution.
3. Visiting Students Program
Program Duration:
One semester or one academic year; the classes begin in middle or late February for Spring semester and early September for Fall semester.
Class settings: Differ from each major
All majors offered in the degree program catalogue are open for application. According to the requirements of different departments, applicants may need to conduct an online interview. Chinese-taught programs require different Chinese proficiency level according to different majors. English-taught programs require English proficiency level. Exchange students will take classes together with degree students, and receive transcripts upon the completion of the term.
